General Director of contractor convicted of stealing 1.7 million rubles in construction of spaceport Vostochniy
The court sentenced the director of the company Dobrostroy Oleg Rodionov to 3.5 years in a general regime penal colony.
The Blagoveshensky court convicted the General Director of the company Dobrostroy Oleg Rodionov, accused of Embezzlment (part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code). The court found him guilty of embezzling 1.7 million rubles. In July 2013 the company Dobrostroy and FSUE GUUS Dalspetsstroy at Spetsstroy Russia signed a contract for the construction and installation works on the project spaceport Vostochniy.
The court accused Rodionov of embezzling funds entrusted to him from September to November 2013. According to the investigation estimate, Rodionov's actions caused damage to the state in the amount of 1.7 million rubles. Oleg Rodionov found guilty on part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code (Misappropriation or Embezzlement). The court decided to collect stolen their money from the company's General Director.
Note that at the beginning of this year it was ended hearing of the criminal case against the Head of the branch Construction Management № 701 of the FSUE Dalspetsstroy Evgeny Nefedov and his deputy Andrey Golub. They were accused of commercial bribery: according to investigators, they extorted 10% of the contracts with the contractor of Dobrostroy. Defence argued that there was no extortion, and money, appearing in a case, was the part of the contractor's duty to Dalspetsstroy.
The construction of the Vostochniy cosmodrome began in the Amur region in 2012. The date of completion of the cosmodrome was repeatedly postponed. The construction of the Vostochniy was accompanied by scandals and high-profile criminal cases on the facts of theft, non-payment of salaries and bribery. Total under investigation there are more than 20 criminal cases. The amount of thefts has exceeded 5 billion rubles.

The Moscow Garrison Military Court has recently detained the retired general for the duration of the investigation. The former police commander is accused of mediation in bribery and bribe extortion. Trutnev was turned in by his former accomplices – FSB officers trying to extort 3 million rubles ($52.3 thousand) from the Director of Snegirev Research Technological Institute in exchange for covering up violations identified at the enterprise.
