FSB searched Hermitage under case of embezzlement
Intelligence agencies were interested in documentation connected with construction of new buildings and constructions for needs of the museum.
On Thursday, March 30, staff of the Federal Security Service carried out searches in several premises of the State Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the press service of the museum reports. It is noted that the visit of law enforcement authorities took place within criminal case on embezzlements at construction of new buildings and constructions for needs of the Hermitage.
The press service emphasized that the management of the museum did not interfere with representatives of the FSB and on contrary provided all necessary data and is in contact with law enforcement agencies.
Earlier, director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky commented on the judgment about house arrest of deputy Mikhail Novikov.
