Former Vice-Governor of Penza region became suspect in criminal case
Valery Savin was suspected of a fraud with a summer residence.
Ex-Vice-Governor of the Penza region Valery Savin, who left his post in November, became a figurant in the criminal case of fraud. This is reported by the press service of the ICR.
As specified in the department, the former official is charged under part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (Swindling committed by a person using his official position, on a large scale).
According to investigators, Savin committed a fraud and received a property in one of the horticultural cooperative of Penza for almost half a million rubles ($8500). Now the ex-official faces up to six years in prison.
