Former head of the vegetable wholesale warehouse No. 4 in Yekaterinburg Ivan Obukhov that was convicted of stealing 400 hectares of land from bard Alexander Novikov, may be released soon, as the term of imprisonment in the pre-trial detention center was recounted. Kommersant reports this.
On August 13 one day of Ivan Obukhov in the pre-trial detention center will be counted as for one and a half times in the colony. The defense of the former head of the warehouse demanded to take into account the amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, according to which one day in the pre-trial detention center is equal to 1.5 days in a colony of the general regime and an educational colony.
At the end of 2017, Obukhov was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony for Swindling on an especially large scale (Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He was detained in the pre-trial detention center since the beginning of 2016. Thus, his term was due to expire in early 2019. However, taking into account amendments to the legislation, he has already served his entire time and can be released.
Obukhov was convicted of the attempted takeover of the land plot of the Svetoyar company, 80% of which belonged to Alexander Novikov. Owner of 20% of the company Larisa Assonova sold a plot of 400 hectares for 14.6 million rubles. At the same time, the cost of the land was at least 88 million rubles ($1.28m).
In 2003, the killer and his accomplice shot mob Merab Tabagua and the shot callers Alexey Kryukov and Ivan Zankevich from the Kalashnikov rifle near the Apelsin cafe in the Sovetsky district of Bryansk.
