Ex-vice governor of Primorye convicted of illegal entrepreneurship
Vasily Usoltsev will not be able to occupy leadership positions for almost three years.
A Primorye court has found First Vice-Governor of the region Vasily Usoltsev guilty of illegal entrepreneurship (Art. 289 of the Russian Criminal Code), This is reported by the press service of the Primorye Investigative Committee.
According to the case file, as first vice-governor of the Primorye region, contrary to the current legislation of the Russian Federation, the defendant and his accomplice received additional income from the business he organized. There are no further details.
The crime was revealed by officers of the Federal Security Service Directorate in the Primorye region.
Now the former official will have to pay a fine in the amount of 6 million 300 thousand rubles ($93,725). In addition, he is forbidden to hold senior positions for a period of 2 years 10 months. The official’s accomplice has been sentenced to a fine of 1 million 100 thousand rubles ($16,364).
