Ex-Mayor of Cheboksary prosecuted under ten episodes
Two more counts (over embezzlement) were added.
The Investigative Committee initiated two more criminal cases against former Mayor of Cheboksary Irina Klementyeva, who is already being prosecuted under eight episodes. This is stated on the website of the regional ICR department.
The investigation suggests that she promoted 13 people in the Chuvashia-Med insurance company, but they de facto worked in the commercial organization of her husband. At the same time, they received a salary from the budget of Chuvashia-Med, and the firm of the official's husband paid nothing.
"As a result, SK Chuvashia-Med OJSC suffered damage totaling over 6.5 million rubles ($114.200)," it was reported.
The second case covers the purchase of medical equipment produced by Klementyeva worth 480 thousand rubles. The equipment was also transferred to the husband's firm balance. As a result, investigators opened two more criminal cases under Art. 160 of the Criminal Code (Embezzlement).
Recall that Klementyeva is also charged with abuse of official powers (five episodes), embezzlement (three episodes). Since June 2017, the former official has been placed under house arrest.
At present, all criminal cases are united in one proceeding. According to the investigation, the total damage exceeded 14.5 million rubles ($254.700).
Ismail Efendiev is suspected of exceeding authority in connection with the investigation of cases of detained earlier former First Deputy Prime Minister Ramazan Aliyev and nephew of the former head of Dagestan Askhabali Abdulatipov. Searches are being conducted at Efendiev's office and house.
The disappearance of an elderly Muscovite, who owns three rooms on Ostozhenka Street, and her disabled son, worried the neighbors, but the police refused to initiate criminal proceedings on their application. Housing in the elite area of the capital in the meantime was re-registered to a resident of St. Petersburg, who introduced herself as their relative.
