Ex-head of space-rocket corporation to be tried in Moscow for fraud
The official demanded from one of the entrepreneurs, who concluded a contract with the organization, to pay him 24 million rubles.
The former head of the department of space-rocket corporation Energia named after S. Korolev will be brought to court in Moscow on charges of fraud in a particularly large amount. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee’s Main Investigative Directorate for the Moscow Region.
According to the investigation, the ex-head of the department demanded 24 million rubles from one of the subcontractors for the state contract with Roskosmos (Energia was a contractor) to pay for the work done, as well as for facilitating further cooperation with the enterprise.
The entrepreneur agreed to pay the former head of the space-rocket corporation but asked to reduce the amount due to the company's difficult financial situation. As a result, the accused received 1.5 million rubles from the businessman, after which he was detained by law enforcers.
With regard to the former official, a criminal case was initiated under part 3 of Art. 30 and part 4 of Art. 159 of the Russian Criminal Code (Attempted Fraud). The investigation is completed, the case materials are sent to court, stressed the Investigative Committee.
The court appointed oppositionist Alexey Navalny 20-day arrest immediately after doing another term. During the hearing, he promised to respond to the director of Rosgvardiya after watching his challenge to a duel.
