Ex-Head of Saratov administration accused of fraud surrendered after 4 years of escape
Alexey Prokopenko appeared in the investigative department for the Oktyabrsky district of the city and gave an appeal with his opinion on the case against him.
The former head of the Saratov administration, Alexey Prokopenko, who was wanted for four years on charges of fraud, came to the investigative unit for the Oktyabrsky district of the city, Interfax reports with reference to Nadezhda Voloshina, press secretary of the administration system.
According to Voloshina, Prokopenko filed an appeal with a statement of his opinion on the case against him. The petition was handed over to the police.
"The police department will report further news about the fate of Prokopenko," Voloshina added.
Alexey Prokopenko was charged in absentia with Swindling on a large scale, committed by a group of persons (part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The case is related to the short supply to Volzhskoe TGC OJSC for the amount of more than 507 million rubles. In December 2014, the former head of administration was put on the federal wanted list. In April 2015, the court arrested him in absentia for two months.
