Grigory Slabikov, the former head of Rostekhnadzor's Directorate for the North-Western Federal District, after a two-month arrest admitted his guilt in fraud worth 4.7 billion rubles (74.3 million USD). This is reported by Fontanka.
According to the publication, Slabikov, at the court session held to decide on the extension of his pre-trial restriction measure stated that he regretted what he had done and was ready to bear any punishment.
It is to be recalled that the former official is charged with fraud by 4.7 billion rubles. The money was collected by self-regulating organizations (SRO) from their members. According to the investigation, the funds were withdrawn through a chain of companies to third-party accounts and Slabikov received a reward of 20-25%.
It is noteworthy that this time Slabikov’s defense no longer asked for house arrest, as before. He will remain in custody until at least 11 August. Yesterday, his daughter Yelena Slabikova also admitted guilt of fraudulent behavior in the Dzerzhinsky Court.
