Director of Penitentiary Service cannery and his accomplices finally charged
The Prosecutor General's Office sent the case materials upon the embezzlement of 105 million rubles ($1.7m) to the court.
The General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation approved the indictment against director of the FSUE Cannery of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Pavel Belikov, head of the procurement department of this enterprise Sergey Safonov, and also against three businessmen - Andrey Anoshin, Mgher Kirakosyan and Slo Ivo. This is reported on the official website of the supervisory authority.
All the defendants will appear before the Engels District Court of the Saratov region on charges of embezzling 105 million rubles for the purchase of margarine, as well as fraud and abuse of office - depending on the role of each participant.
Recall that according to the version of the investigation, executives of the canning plant Belikov and Safonov provided the conclusion of contracts for 270 million rubles ($4.5m) for the purchase of fat and margarine for the needs of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia between the company and the firms-affiliated companies. The price of the contract was significantly overestimated, due to which the intruders put in their pocket more than 105 million rubles. In particular, Belikov received 30 million rubles for the implementation of these agreements, the ICR stated.
The figurants do not recognize their guilt.
