Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic Dagir Isamutdinov was detained in Dagestan, Interfax reports referring to his sources.

In February 2018, together with other high-ranking officials of Dagestan, former Education Minister Shahabas Shahov was detained. He was accused of embezzling 88 million rubles allocated for the construction of a school in Kaspiisk.
