Law enforcement officers have detained a deputy head of police department of the central district in Chelyabinsk Evgeny Isheev, reports URA.RU with reference to its sources.
The sources say the searches were carried out in the security chief’s office on the night of December 20; some documents were seized, and he was detained.
The press center of Chelyabinsk region’s Department of the Russian Ministry of Interior confirmed the operative investigative measures had been carried out in the police department of the central district.
They noted the crime had been exposed by the department’s own security service.
“The implicated staff member has been suspended from work. He’s going to be fired, if found guilty,” representatives of MIA said, having not named the employee.
