Deputy Head of Investigative Branch of Lefortovo Police Department is arrested on suspicion of theft of 7 million rubles
The Presnensky court of Moscow arrested Anzor Shulay until 6 November.
The Presnensky court of Moscow has defined the measure of restraint in the form of arrest for a period up to November 6th for the Deputy Head of Investigative Branch of Lefortovo Police Department Anzor Shulay. According to the investigation, the policeman illegally awarded 7 million rubles, using his official position.
Investigators believe that Shulay illegally appropriated the seized in a criminal case funds in the amount of 7 million rubles. To cover up his crime, the Head of the Investigative Department conspired with the victim in the same criminal case and convinced him to give a false testimony for a cash consideration in the framework of investigation. The man had to announce that he had been stolen not 400 thousand rubles, but 10 million rubles, as well as to falsify a receipt, confirming the fact of belonging to him this amount. The man refused to help the police to assign millions, and surrendered him to his colleagues.
A native of Grozny Lors Khamiev, who has served several years for preparing an attempt on Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, has been arrested by court along with another defendant. They have already been charged with the murder of Azerbaijani Garib Orudzhev during the night of February 15.
The high-profile shootout in Oko Tower in November 2017 – at least, 40 gunshots were fired there – has led to unexpected consequences a year later. Seven high-ranked investigators of the Main Investigations Directorate in the City of Moscow of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (ICR) have submitted a collective resignation letter, and the inquest into the incident in Moscow City International Business Center was resumed. In fact, this chain of events resembles another firefight that had occurred in 2015 near Elements Restaurant on Rochdelskaya street, Moscow and also resulted in a number of high-profile criminal cases against senior ICR officials and incarceration of ‘thief № 1’ Shakro Molodoy.
