Dagestani MP released from detention center and immediately detained on new charge
Another swindling charge was added to the episode about swindling with land.
Deputy of the National Assembly of Dagestan, Fikret Radjabov, was detained in Makhachkala after leaving a pre-trial detention center due to charges of suspected swindling. Earlier, Radjabov was arrested in the case of illegal alienation of more than a thousand land plots between Makhachkala and Caspiysk, but the Supreme Court of the Republic released the deputy.
“Law enforcement officers were waiting for my client by the detention center. After he left the detention center, he was handed an invitation to an investigator. We drove together to the investigator, and he again detained him for 48 hours on suspicion of a crime,” lawyer Sultan Kalaev told a correspondent of Kavkazsky Uzel.
According to the lawyer, now Radjabov was suspected “under a smaller article than he had,” – of swindling, committed by a group of people on an especially large scale (part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The court will decide on the preventive measure on August 3.
Rajabov and 13 more officials of the Makhachkala administration, the offices of the Federal Registration Service and the Roskadastr were arrested in late July within the land swindling case. The parliamentarian was first arrested, but the Supreme Court of the Republic decided that it would be enough to prohibit the suspect from communicating with other participants in criminal proceedings, to correspond with someone and leave the house at night.
