Vostochniy spaceport construction contractor accused of $11 million misappropriation
The businessman did not admit his guilt claiming that he has spent money for construction trailer for workers.
Stavropol businessman A. Tolstikov became a defendant in a case over misappropriation of the budgetary funds allocated for construction of facilities for the Vostochniy spaceport.
According to Life, Tolstikov is the head of Management of Construction Mechanization LLC, which has won the construction contract for a number of objects for the spaceport, however out of 765 million rubles ($13 million) allocated under the contract with Federal State Unitary Enterprise Spetsstroytekhnologii, Tolstikov had only 100 million ($1.7 million) left. The rest, according to him, he spent for construction trailers for workers.
A criminal case under the article Assignment or Misappropriation was initiated against the businessman, he may face up to ten years in prison, the media notes.
It should be added that the Vostochniy has already come into the view of investigators before. The damage from embezzlements during construction of the spaceport is several billion rubles.
It concerns entrepreneur Dmitry Motorin, Boris Usherovich, a co-owner of the Group of Companies 1520, and Novoe Vremya board member, Ivan Stankevich. Motorin is accused of giving a bribe on an especially large scale, and Stankevich and Usherovich are charged with bribe-taking.
