Commander of Road Patrol Service troop on Kuban extorts money from subordinates preparing for retire on pension

The chief threatened with dismissal in case the employees don’t agree to comply with his demands.

Commander of Road Patrol Service troop in Krasnodar region’s Krasnoarmeysky district has become a defendant in the case into taking a bribe, as well as extortion on a large scale (items 5 b, c of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), reports the media office of the regional Investigative Committee.

The investigation found that in March, 2017, the convicted made his two subordinates pay him out illegal allowance - in exchange for patronage. Both inspectors were soon-to-retire.

The employees disagreed to pay the the chief. Then, in his words, he started a hate campaign: gave him additional orders, summoned to office outside working time, threatened with dismissal. After all, the Commander promised he would not let them retire peacefully. He promised to make it the way they would be fired.

“After this kind of threats, the victims agreed to pay bribes to the police officer. From March 2017 to July 2018, 364 thousand rubles ($5.5 thousand) were transferred to his bank cards, reports Komsomolskaya pravda.

At the present time, the corrupt official is arrested. The investigation continues determining the details of the incident. Internal review towards the accused is being carried out, as well.
