Chuvashia: Justice of Peace suspected of swindling on large scale
Roza Gabdullova demanded 4.6 million rubles ($70 thousand) for “solution to the issue” related to a land property and squatter development on it.
Employees of the Federal Security Service Directorate in the Republic of Chuvashia have detained Justice of the Peace from a city of Kanash Roza Gabdullova on suspicion of swindling on a large scale, reports the office of investigations of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the region.
The investigation theory is that Gabdullova and her acquaintance promised a citizen of Cheboksary to solve the issue related to changing the category of his land property and registering a construction he had built without authorization. Gabdullova demanded 4.6 million rubles ($70 thousand) from him.
During 2015 - 2017, the judge received 850 thousand rubles ($13 thousand). In June, 2018, the victim paid her extra 2 million rubles ($30 thousand) for the alleged paperwork. In July, 2018, the judge and her accomplice were detained while receiving another tranche worth of 1.8 million rubles ($27 thousand).
The fact that criminal case into swindling on an especially large scale (item 3 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and an attempt of swindling on an especially large scale (item 3 of article 30, item 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) had been initiated, as well as the fact that the judge had been detained became known on August 7, 2019, only. The investigation is ongoing.
