Case of fugitive oligarch Polonsky returned to Prosecutor's Office
Moscow Presnensky court has found violations in the case of the former developer.
According to RIA Novosti, Presnensky court of Moscow found a number of procedural irregularities in the case of a businessman Sergey Polonsky on the theft of 2.6 billion rubles of shareholders. Thus it was granted the appeal of arrested Slavik Brsoyan's lawyer to return the case to the Prosecutor's Office.
Earlier, the Commercial Court issued a decision on the conclusion new contracts for apartments at no extra cost with real estate investors. The Prosecutor General's Office expressed its intention to appeal the verdict. Furthermore, Polonsky has been extended the arrest.
Sergey Polonsky is accused of embezzling funds of share participants of apartment buildings in residential complex Kutuzovskaya mile and residential complex Rublevskaya Riviera.
The prosecutors want the former Russian Federation Council member to go to prison for 14 years instead of 9 and pay a 500-million-ruble ($8.8 million) fine instead of 70 million rubles ($1.2 million).
