Businessman Boyko-Veliky summoned for questioning in embezzlement case

The founder of the Russian Milk agricultural holding, Vasily Boyko-Velikiy, is interrogated in a case of embezzlement, Interfax reports. Alla Kabanova, the head of the Moscow branch of the bank and a number of others were detained together with the entrepreneur in connection with embezzlement at the credit institution, RBC reports.
Alexey Averyanov, Boyko-Veliky’s lawyer, stressed that it’s not right to speak of the businessman’s detention yet. “The format of the criminal case implies that the person made decisions, but he (Boyko-Velikiy) did not take any decisions,” the defender told Interfax.
According to RBC, the security forces conducted searches at structures belonging to Boyko, including the companies: Electronics on Presnya, Russian Milk, Your Financial Trustee. Credit Express Bank has 10% in the authorized capital of OJSC Your Financial Trustee. In May 2018, the Central Bank revoked a license from Credit Express Bank due to numerous violations of the law on money laundering.
In May 2015, Boyko-Velikiy was charged with illegal acquisition of farmland for Russian Milk OJSC, but the criminal case was closed.
