Austria extradites Russian man accused of ₽253-million theft
The suspect was handed over to Russian law enforcement agencies at Vienna International Airport.
Nail Malyutin, a Russian citizen accused of embezzling 253 million rubles, has been extradited from Austria, said Alexander Kurennoj, the Prosecutor General's Office spokesman.
"Malyutin is accused of embezzling the funds belonging to Financial Leasing Company (partially state-owned) in the amount of 253 million rubles by signing a fictitious contract for the sale of a civil aircraft... Today, on January 20 of 2017, Malyutin was handed over to Russian law enforcement bodies at Vienna International Airport", said Kurennoj.
According to the Turkish publication Sabah, former producer of the local TV channel TRT has been arrested in Ankara as part of the high-profile case of the murder of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov a year ago in Turkey.
