Arrest of ex-Head of RAS Fedotov extended for month
The Presnensky District Court of Moscow has extended the arrest of former Director General of the Russian Authors Society Sergey Fedotov until June 17.
During a regular court session, Judge Tatyana Vasyuchenko issued a decree on the extension of the arrest of Sergey Fedotov for another month. In total, his term in the pre-trial detention center will make 11 months and 20 days.
"The investigation of the criminal case is particularly complex, and therefore, more time is needed. It follows from the materials submitted that the investigation has received evidence of Fedotov's involvement in the commission of the alleged crime," Tatyana Vasyuchenko added.
In its turn, Fedotov's defense has not announced whether it plans to challenge the arrest extension in the Moscow City Court.
Let us recall that, as previously reported by the CrimeRussia, Sergey Fedotov is charged with swindling and embezzlement on a large scale. At the moment, the Russian Authors Society is headed by Maksim Dmitriev, who also runs the Pervoe Muzykalnoe Izdatelstvo (‘First Music Publishing House’).
