All Spetsstroy's Deputy Heads will be fired
A source close to the investigation told The CrimeRussia about the anti-corruption sweep in the top of the Russian Federal Agency for Special Construction (Spetsstroy). He said that over the past few days not only the Deputy Head of agency Alexander Buriakov had been detained, but also his colleague, occupying a similar position, Alexander Mordovets.
In addition, in the near future within the framework of the criminal case of swindling the Spetsstroy Deputy Head Alexander Khodos and the former employee of the agency Alexander Zagorulko will be detained, said the source.
Buriakov was arrested on July 7 in the framework of the criminal case initiated under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (Swindling committed on an especially large scale) in connection with Spetsstroy’s public contracts. The CrimeRussia wrote about this in detail. Then it became known that other officials associated with the agency are also involved in the case. The sources of The CrimeRussia claimed that he will not be the only agency manager to be arrested.
The official was involved in Spetsstroy’s projects developed by the Defense Ministry orders. Alexander Mordovets supervised the construction of the cosmodrome Vostochny, which appeared in the press as an object of the multibillion thefts.
In March, Mordovets was appointed in place of Alexander Zagorulko, who previously handed in his resignation.
The Director of Spetsstroy Alexander Volosov, who was appointed to this position in 2013, is managing the reform of the Federal Agency announced several years ago.
A native of Grozny Lors Khamiev, who has served several years for preparing an attempt on Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, has been arrested by court along with another defendant. They have already been charged with the murder of Azerbaijani Garib Orudzhev during the night of February 15.
The high-profile shootout in Oko Tower in November 2017 – at least, 40 gunshots were fired there – has led to unexpected consequences a year later. Seven high-ranked investigators of the Main Investigations Directorate in the City of Moscow of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (ICR) have submitted a collective resignation letter, and the inquest into the incident in Moscow City International Business Center was resumed. In fact, this chain of events resembles another firefight that had occurred in 2015 near Elements Restaurant on Rochdelskaya street, Moscow and also resulted in a number of high-profile criminal cases against senior ICR officials and incarceration of ‘thief № 1’ Shakro Molodoy.
