Police smash gang of drug dealers and seize almost 1 ton of drugs

In total, over 950 kg of various narcotic drugs, as well as more than 160 kg of precursors, 1.2 thousand kg of chemical reagents, 15 kilograms of counterfeit medicine, 15 units of laboratory equipment and IDs of law enforcement officers were seized during the operation.

Employees of the Directorate General for the Control of Drug Trafficking (GUNK) detained about 20 alleged members of a criminal group that was engaged in the production and distribution of drugs in 20 regions of Russia. Official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk reported this.

According to her, GUNK officers from the Republics of Mari El, Chuvashia, Tatarstan, as well as Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, and Novosibirsk regions arrested the gang members. According to TASS, the production of drugs in an underground laboratory in the Moscow region was ceased.

Volk also said that vehicles with caches transported batches of narcotic substances. The settlements were carried out via electronic payment systems and cryptocurrencies.

All persons responsible for logistics were detained; warehouses in the Moscow region were sealed. The leaders of the criminal group, couriers, storekeepers, manufacturers, and distributors were arrested.

On November 7, Irina Volk reported that the Kuybyshevsky District Court of Samara would consider the criminal case against 16 residents, who earned about 285 million rubles on the sale of synthetic drugs.
