Names of Russians detained for attempt to smuggle 147 kg of cocaine in Venezuela revealed

Alexander Kravtsov, Oleg Varlamov (Varkamov) and Mikhail Marasigyan (Marsikyan) have been charged with drugs and psychotropic substances trafficking. A citizen of Ukraine, Yuri Tribusyan (Tribasyan) was also detained.

Citizens of Russia Alexander Kravtsov, Oleg Varlamov (Varkamov) and Mikhail Marasigyan (Marsikyan), as well as Ukrainian citizen Yuri Tribusyan (Tribasyan) have been detained in Venezuela for transporting 147 kilograms of cocaine, publication El Cooperante reports this citing its sources in the prosecutor's office of Venezuela.

The detainees are charged with illegal drugs and psychotropic substances trafficking. In addition to the Russians and Ukrainians, 13 citizens of the Philippines and three Venezuelans were also detained. According to RIA Novosti, the Russian embassy in Caracas has not confirmed the fact of the detention of Russian citizens yet.

On October 7, the Bolivarian National Guard carried out a special operation to curb illegal drug trafficking in the state of Anzoategui. Law enforcement officers searched the Jose Progress tanker that was stationed in the Bay of José Antonio Anzoátegui. The ship went under the flag of Panama.

A cache with 124 packets of cocaine with a total weight of 147 kilograms was discovered on the ship. The packages were marked with logos of Gucci, Chanel and other world famous fashion brands.
