Kaliningrad FSB detained drug traffickers transporting EU hashish and cocaine
There was seized more than 1 kg of drugs.
FSB officers detained two participants of a criminal group engaged in drug trafficking from the EU countries to the Kaliningrad region. More than 1 kilogram of drugs was seized, the press service of the regional FSB department reported.
"It is established that these citizens carried out deliveries and illegal distribution of narcotic drugs from the European Union to the territory of the region," the report stated. The department added that FSB officers seized more than 1 kilogram of cocaine and hashish from the detainees.
Two criminal cases were initiated against suspects under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation Illegal Acquisition, Storage, Transportation of Narcotic Drugs, which provides for punishment of up to ten years of imprisonment. Employees of the FSB establish other members of the criminal group.
Saburova believes that the Russian authorities violated articles 2 and 5 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, guaranteeing the right to life, as well as the right to freedom and personal inviolability.
