Federal Security Service seizes drugs worth of $10 million from Darknet

During the searches around 11 regions, the Federal Security Service employees seized 440 kg of narcotic drugs, including MDMA, a-PVP, mephedrone and hashish. 7 employees of a Darknet store have been detained.

The Federal Security Service employees seized thwarted an organized criminal community that dealt with sale of drugs through an underground web-store (Darknet), reports TASS with reference to the Public Relations Centre of the Federal Security Service.

The operation was carried out in the territory of the Tver, Voronezh, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Orenburg, Saratov, Tymen, Tomsk, and Chelyabinsk regions. 440 kg of narcotic drugs, including MDMA, a-PVP, mephedrone and hashish, have been removed from illegal circulation. The total value of the drug is estimated at 650 million rubles ($10 million).

7 delivery men of the store have been detained red-handed during transportation of drugs. 2 of them were delivering especially large amounts of drugs (150-300 kg) from Moscow and St. Petersburg to major population centres around the Central, Volga, and Siberian Federal Districts. The rest were responsible for wholesale of the prohibited narcotic drugs (3-50 kg).

7 criminal cases have been initiated against the detained under item 5 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal Acquisition, Storage, Transportation, Making or Processing of Narcotic Drugs). At the present time, they are under arrest.
