Balashikha: Ex-Head of Primorsk Regional Pharmacy detained with a kilogram of drugs

Vasily Sysoikin has been earlier tried for embezzlement on a large scale.

In Balashikha, police detained the ex-head of the Primorsk Regional Pharmacy, Vasily Sysoikin. During the search of his car, 997.6 grams of narcotic substances was founf and seized, Komsomolskaya Pravda reports citing law enforcement sources.

According to sources of the publication, during investigation activities, police found another 299.7 grams of drugs in the Kuchinsky Forest Park under a bush near the place of detention of Sysoikin. A total of 1,297.3 grams of prohibited substances were seized.

In 2018, the Pervorechensky court of Vladivostok found Sysoikin guilty of embezzlement on a particularly large scale with the use of his official position (part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced him to two years in a penal colony. Taking into account the time he was kept in a pre-trial detention center, the ex-head of the Primorsk Regional Pharmacy was released in the courtroom with a compensation of 140 million rubles.

From May 2006 to December 2012, Sysoikin spent more than 144.8 million rubles of budget funds allocated for the Primorsk Regional Pharmacy. The waste has led to the bankruptcy of the enterprise.
