10 kg of drugs seized, 15 searches conducted and 10 people arrested in St.Petersburg
18 criminal cases initiated in 2017 in the city and the region were united into one procedure.
St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region Drug Control Department conducted 15 searches as part of a criminal case on the sale of narcotic substances, which was opened in July 2017, Fontanka reports. As a result, more than 10 kilograms of various drugs, as well as a combat pistol were seized. 10 persons were arrested.
On December 6, the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region united 18 similar criminal cases on the storage and sale of drugs into one procedure. The case got a new subsumption - the organization of a criminal community. In total, there are 12 people involved in the process, 11 of whom were arrested. Another figurant - a 21-year-old St.Petersburger - was left at large under recognizance not to leave.
The seized gun belonged to the alleged leader of the gang. The searches were held in apartments in Kolpino, Krasnoselsky and Nevsky districts of St. Petersburg, as well as in the Tosnensky and Volkhov districts of the Leningrad region. It is reported that the arrested did not work anywhere. Most of them have already been convicted of various offenses.
It is reported that some of the defendants gave confessions. According to the edition, the investigative measures are ongoing.
