Widow of crime lord shot dead in Ivano-Frankivsk offers reward for info on murderers
The crime boss nicknamed Shelep was shot and killed by a man with a silenced pistol on New Year’s Eve on one of the city’s central streets.
Yulianna Gorditsa, the wife of Shelep, the mafia boss murdered on December 30 in the heart of Ivano-Frankivsk, made a Facebook post asking people who might have witnessed the crime for any information that could help the murder investigation.
“Folks, I’m begging those with any information other than that we have already. Who saw my child’s father being shot dead at 12 Khotynskaya, saw the people in that damned car... or who set fire to that car. Any information! For a reward, everything is anonymous! I’m asking for my son’s sake,” Gorditsa writes.
Gorditsa's fund-raising post in Ukrainian
RBC-Ukraine reports that the woman has already started raising money for the reward to anyone who would give the killer’s name or provide at least some information that would help to get to the bottom of things.
The crime boss nicknamed Shelep, 60, (his name is not reported), who had spent dozens of years in prison, according to the Ukrainian media, died of a gunshot wound to the neck. The killers vanished in a dark-colored car without license plates. The car was later found burned down around Naberezhnaya Street.
The funeral of Amur crime boss Zaruba turned into a scandal. The witness filmed a funeral procession, which elongates for hundreds of meters, blocking the city streets. About a hundred people walked along the roadway behind the coffin. According to the author of the video, among those who carried the coffin of the lord, the heads of the local police and the Prosecutor’s Office were noticed. “So that I live and die,” thought the onlookers, who witnessed the procession.
