A court in Moscow has arrested the Chechen kingpin Kazbek Shakhbulatov, better known in the criminal world as Kazbek Ryzhiy. Three of his accomplices have also been placed in custody, Senior Assistant to the Head of the ICR Main Investigations Directorate in the city, Yulia Ivanova, told media.

“The illegal activities of accomplices have been stopped. As part of the investigation into the criminal case, investigators searches the places of residence of the defendants, during which mobile phones, weapons, as well as other items and documents relevant to the investigation, were seized. At the moment, the court elected a preventive measure in the form of confinement against the defendants upon request of the investigation,” Ivanova said.

Previously, The CrimeRussia reported the crime, of which the vor and his henchmen are suspected. The kidnapping of the Moscow entrepreneur took place in August 2018 on Mozhaysky Val street. Members of the group forced the 41-year-old businessman in a car and took him to the village of Kholm in the Mozhaysk City District. Keeping the businessman in the bathhouse, they beat him and demanded 2 million rubles ($30,680) at gunpoint. Having received part of the required amount, as well as receipts for non-existent debts, the kidnappers released the man. A criminal case has been initiated into the kidnapping and extortion. Kazbek Ryzhiy and his accomplices were detained as a result of investigative measures.

It is noteworthy that the “colleagues” of 50-year-old Kazbek Ryzhiy do not recognize him as a thief in law.
