Vasya Ushaty headed “amber mafia”
Just before the gang of a “thief within the law” was captured in the case of so-called “amber mafia”, 123 searches were conducted.
Ukrainian servicemen uncovered a big criminal grouping, which took total control over illegal extraction of amber in the Rovensk Region, under the lead of Vasily Rusan nicknamed Vasya Ushaty.
As the media service of the Ukrainian National Police told the CrimeRussia, the combat operation on detention of 20 active members of the grouping and their leader was conducted on the day before. Fighters of KORD, special subdivision of Ukrainian National Police, also took part in the operation.
Earlier, it appeared that the grouping, which controlled illegal extraction of amber in the Rovensk Region, was headed by a “thief within the law” Vasily Rusan. His criminal grouping was dividing territories among illegal amber diggers and collecting money for the organizers of the illegal business.
