Uspenskaya explains why she stood up for crime lord Shishkan, whom “everyone idolizes”
The singer said that she has known the crime lord for a very long time.
Russian pop star, Lyubov Uspenskaya, explained why she put her signature in a petition in defense of the arrested Russian underworld leader Oleg Shishkanov, also known as Shishkan.
According to her, she has known the thief in law for a long time and has always considered him a highly moral person. The singer was utterly surprised to find out that Shishkanov is connected with the criminal world.
“I have known him for years. He is a tactful person, he invited all the stars to the Song of the Year concert every year, was respectful. All classmates idolize him,” said Uspenskaya.
The CrimeRussia said earlier that the country’s show business reps wrote a collective letter in defense of Shishkan, asking to release him from the detention center. About 40 very well-known celebrities put their signatures on the petition, among them was Valery Gazzaev, the former coach of the Russian national football team, Yuri Semin, coach of FC Lokomotiv, artists Lev Leschenko and Alexander Serov, and other athletes and cultural figures.
The letter said that Oleg Shishkanov was a philanthropist, he sponsored many sports competitions and helped Donbass people.
Despite the letter from the Russian celebrities, the court did not place Shishkanov under house arrest instead of custody after the appeal was considered. He is accused under the new act, Art. 210.1, on “occupying a higher position in the criminal hierarchy”.
