Tyurik claims throne of thief in law number 1
One of the most influential thieves in law began to realize his ambitions for the thieves' throne.
Thief in law Vladimir Tyurin (Tyurik) in recent months has once again developed serious activity, which indicates that he has big plans for the title of thief in law No. 1, Rosbalt reports, citing law enforcement sources.
At the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, Tyurik holds regular meetings with other criminal leaders. According to the agency interlocutor, Tyurik "is unusually active, is the engine of various undertakings in the thieves' world, constantly contacts with other crime bosses, gathers small meetings. A little more – and it will be possible to consider Tyurin in fact as the thief in law No. 1.
The former leader of the Bratskaya OCG Vladimir Tyurin (Tyurik), was first convicted at the age of 16 for complicity in group rape. Later he also was imprisoned for complicity in apartment theft, malicious hooliganism, illegal business activities (he held a video salon) and the involvement of minors in criminal activities. In 1993, he was vetted by the most influential Russian crime bosses Yaponchik, Ded Hasan, and Shakro Molodoy. In 2010, at the request of Spain, as a citizen of Kazakhstan, Tyurin was detained in Moscow on charges of creating an OCG and laundering criminal money. It is known that Tyurik's girlfriend Maria Maksakova played an important role in the confrontation with the Spanish justice. According to some data, she received a law degree specifically to protect the father of her children. After lawyers proved Tyurik's Russian citizenship, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation refused to extradite him to the Spanish authorities.
According to the source of Rosbalt, in December 2018, after the arrest of Shakro Molodoy's close associate thief in law Kakha Parpalia, in January 2019, Tyurik, on his own initiative, repeatedly discussed with other influential crime bosses – Badri Koguashvili (Badri Kutaissky), Elgudzha Turkadze (Gudzha), Mikhail Voevodin (Misha Luzhnetsky) various events in the thieves' environment.
Badri Koguashvili (Badri Kutaissky)
According to sources, Tyurik can often be seen with another influential Slavic thief in law Vasily Khristoforov (Vasya Voskres) in metropolitan restaurants.
Vasily Khristoforov (Vasya Voskres)
Earlier, in October 2018, Tyurin was spotted by operatives at a meeting with other thieves in law, including Sergey Aksenov (Aksen), who after the gathering was detained by operatives for a preventive conversation, but was soon released. In November, Tyurik invited other thieves in law and celebrated his 60th anniversary in one of the golf clubs. Crime bosses Aleksey Petrov (Petrik), Sergey Aksenov (Aksen), Badri Koguashvili (Badri Kutaissky), Eduard Asatryan (Edik Osetrina), Kakha Parpalia (Kakha), Dmitry Chanturia (Miron), Vasily Khristoforov (Vasya Voskres) and Oleg Shishkanov (Shishkan).
The latter, shortly after the announcement of the verdict to the former “boss of all bosses” of the thieves' world Zachary Kalashov (Shakro Molodoy), accepted the offer of other crime bosses at the specially convened for this meeting to become the keeper of the All-Russian common fund, who usually combines this official duty with functions of the thief in law number 1.
Oleg Shishkanov (Shishkan)
However, Shishkan in this status does not show special activity, preferring to lead a measured life, although he actually remains on the “throne.”
It should be noted that after the arrest of Zakhary Kalashov, it was Vladimir Tyurin who was considered the most suitable candidate for the position of thief in law No. 1. Another powerful Slavic lawyer, Yury Pichugin (Pichuga), was actively engaged in his promotion.
Yury Pichugin (Pichuga)
It was assumed that the thief in law Lasha Shushanashvili (Lasha Rustavsky) would control the foreign processes in the criminal environment. In connection with this, in the fall and winter of 2016, Pichuga often met Lasha in Greece and Tyurik in Moscow. On the birthday of Tyurik in November 2016, Pichuga was one of the honored guests.
However, in February 2017, Pichugin himself was arrested. Now he is accused of creating a criminal community and a number of murders. And after the surname of Tyurin was mentioned in connection with the murder of Voronenkov, his chances for the “throne” went to zero. And last spring in Greece Lasha Shushanashvili was arrested, and a few months later extradited to France.

Ukraine itself announced Tuyrik on the Interpol international wanted list on charges of organizing the murder of ex-State Duma deputy Denis Voronenkov in Kyiv, the National Police press service reported in May 2018.
However, despite this, Tyurik did not give up his ambitions, Rosbalt notes. At present, a powerful team is being formed around him, and he is getting closer to being perceived as the new thief in law No. 1.
Mass protest rallies have been taking place in Moscow on a regular basis since the beginning of this summer. People are protesting for lots of different reasons. However, the reaction of the law enforcement authorities is always the same: repression. What is the reason behind the brutality shown during the dispersion of mass rallies? A conscious intimidation policy or incompetence of law enforcement functionaries escalating the violence and unable to imagine the potential consequences of this?
