Thief in law Ogonyok to be charged under ‘anti-thieves’ article

Moscow investigators opened a criminal case against thief in law Alexander Okunev (Ogonyok) for taking a higher position in the criminal hierarchy. This was reported by Tatyana Petrova, the head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow region.

He is to be charged under article 210.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Occupation of the highest position in the criminal hierarchy”.

It is known that earlier, the 56-year-old criminal was detained in the Moscow Region for illegal possession of drugs and sentenced to 10 months. Now he faces up to 15 years in prison.

According to investigators, Okunev coordinated actions of organized groups in the Krasnogorsk, Volokolamsk and Solnechnogorsk regions. In addition, he participated in the division of spheres of criminal influence and criminal profits. Well, and most importantly - it has been established that since 1994 he has been a "thief in law".
