Tbilisi takes part in special operation on detention of Georgian mafia in Spain
The Georgian side has commented on capture of the alleged wife of criminal Kakha Rustavsky and 15 more gangsters.
Tbilisi was involved in special operation in Spain during which 16 representatives of the Georgian mafia were detained. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reports about it.
The department has emphasized that as the special operation is not completed yet – it is too early to sum up the results.
Meanwhile, as The CrimeRussia with reference to the Spanish media wrote earlier, according to all available data in total – 16 people were detained. The investigative events were held in Madrid and Catalonia. Among the detainees there was a woman who law enforcement authorities consider a wife of a leader of criminal group, Kakhabera Shushanashvili (Kakha Rustavsky). Brother of other famous criminal Lasha Rustavsky serves a long-term sentence in the Spanish prison now.
Other gangsters, according to security officers, obeyed to Kakha Rustavsky, trading in money laundering and not shunning robberies in countries of Eastern Europe.
It should be added that special operation, was apparently developed long ago - the national police and the case of regional police of Catalonia came to the criminals’ trace during investigation of murder in 2016 of Gela Garishvili. This representative of the Georgian mafia was detained in 2010, however then he was released in anticipation of court.
Not so much time has passed since the death of Igor ‘Adolf’ Minakov, and, as many predicted, the silent transition to possible successors of the funeral empire, which he built on the shoulders of his mobs, failed. The newly-emerging representatives of ritual services not only steal the bread from the mouths of former ‘royal subjects,’ but also control the city elections with their fists.
