Takhi’s lawyer was sentenced to 5 years
In an effort to alleviate the guilt of his client Alexander Kulakov became involved in the criminal case himself and was imprisoned.
The convicted lawyer of the thief in law Georgy Uglava, also known under the nickname Takhi, got 2 additional years to the previous sentence, reported Zabmedia. Thus, the lawyer of the Bar Association of Zabaykalsky Region Alexander Kulakov, who earlier was sentenced to 3 years in prison for Swindling on an especially large scale and forcing the witness to give false testimony, will serve five years.
The verdict in the case against the Georgian thief in law’s lawyer was voiced on May 24, 2016. Kulakov, after hearing the verdict, found it too strict and has decided to appeal. The regional Prosecutor's Office on the other hand considered it too soft and appealed as well.
After weighing all the "pros" and "cons", the Zabaykalsky Region Court judge sided with the state prosecution and toughened Kulakov’s punishment.
