Сourt arrested three members of Pichuga OCG
During the day, the court will elect a preventive measure to the Komi Republic underboss – thief in law Yuri Pichugin.
Three of the eight detained on February 18 participants of kingpin Yuri Pichugin’s OCG were arrested in Syktyvkar.
The court granted the request of the investigation on the election of a preventive measure in the form of arrest against Oktay Efendiev, Sergey Vanuito and Akhmed Isaev, the Komi Republic ICR press service reported. They are suspected of Establishing Criminal Organization and Participation in it, as well as Illegal Acquisition, Transfer, Transportation and Storage of Firearms, its Parts and Ammunition (Articles 210 and 222 of the Criminal Code).
The court took into account the arguments of the investigation, which considers that suspects, if at large, might abscond or try to influence the witnesses.
As stated in the materials of the criminal case, Vanuito was one of the leaders of the group, and Efendiev and Isaev performed security functions of the OCG, regulated conflicts with competitors, and were responsible for one of the weapons caches.
Thief in law Yuri Pichugin and seven members of his criminal group, operating in the Komi Republic, were arrested on February 18. Pichugin himself, who in criminal circles known as one of the main contenders for the place of thief №1, was detained in Moscow on Sunday and escorted to Syktyvkar. Today, the court will elect him a measure of restraint.
The Pichugin’s OCG was operating in the Komi Republic for 20 years. According to investigators, members of the gang, which consisted of former athletes, special and security forces officers, patronized entrepreneurs and were engaged in other illegal activities.
