Sheikh Khamzat detained in Baku after family gathering
The operatives mistook a family dinner for a criminal gathering.
Azerbaijani law enforcers caught Khamzat Gastamirov, known in criminal circles under the nickname Sheikh Khamzat. The detention took place in Baku, where the criminal 'authority' arrived immediately after commemorative events arranged for the anniversary of the death of thief in law Rovshan Lenkoransky.
According to publication Sputnik Azerbaijan, Sheikh Khamzat was detained on August 19 by GUBOP officers in Levengi restaurant. According to sources of the agency, the operatives mistook dinner with the family of Gastamirov for a gathering. However, other local publications indicate that the siloviki came to three addresses, as they had information about a criminal meeting arranged by Sheikh Khamzat. Moreover, it was reported that in honor of such a case the Рead of the GUBOP department finished his holiday prematurely. Be that as it may, the siloviki soon released the ex-fellow of Rovshan Lenkoransky without accusing him of anything.
Gastamirov was released from custody on Monday, August 21, with the condition that in the near future he will leave the country. To get rid of the close attention of law enforcement officers Sheikh Khamzat flew out of Baku on the same day.
Khamzat Gastamirov at the grave of Rovshan Lenkoransky
As The CrimeRussia has previously written, Khamzat Gastamirov flew to Azerbaijan to visit the grave of Rovshan Dzhaniev, who was killed a year ago and is known by the nickname Rovshan Lenkoransky. One of the most influential criminals of the last decade was shot in his SUV along with the driver overnight into August 18, 2016 in the suburbs of Istanbul. Officially, his murder has not yet been disclosed, but in January 2017, thief in law Rashad Ismailov (Rashad Gyandzhinsky) declared in a criminal environment that Rovshan Lenkoransky had been killed by his order to revenge for the murder of authoritative businessman Dzhambulat Shamil ogly in the spring of 2016 in Moscow.
It should be noted that Sheikh Khamzat, who has been living in Germany for the last few years, stayed in the territory of Azerbaijan for about a week. It is not specified what issues the criminal had been settling all this time. After the murder of Rovshan Lenkoransky his associate makes attempts to get a 'thief crown', including by enlisting the support of the notorious Walter. However, so far all his efforts have been in vain in spite of his friendship with some criminal.
