Sentenced to 19 years Revda underboss released after two years in prison
Nikolay Smovzh was released ahead of schedule due to his health condition.
Today the Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Ekaterinburg decided to release businessman from the city of Revda and shot caller Nikolay Smovzh. He is known as city underboss by the nickname Palych.
According to Vecherniye Vedomosti, the court satisfied the petition of Smovzh over release out of a serious illness.
Recall that in 2016, Palych was sentenced to 19 years in a strict-regime colony for organizing and participating in the murder by the Sverdlovsk Regional Court.
So, in 1993, according to the investigation, his allies shot two opponents of Smovzh from the rifle and pistol in the Evropa cafe. Another episode occurred in 2000. Palych allegedly organized the explosion of the non-ferrous metal drop-off. As a result, the perpetrator and the watchman perished.
In 2004, Smovzh with the support of his allies shot two people near the Revda’s cafe Pampas. One managed to survive. Finally in 2007, the fighters of authority beat a local resident to death.
The prosecution required 22 years of imprisonment for Smovzh, but due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, episodes over explosion, the illegal transportation of firearms and ammunition were excluded.
Palych is considered ally of thief in law Temuri Mirzoev (Timur Sverdlovsky). After the death of the kingpin, the clean-up of his colleagues, one of whom was Nikolay Smovzh, began. He was detained in the office of the largest shopping center in Revda Kvartal.
