Security forces to keep disrupting election of Shakro Molodoy’s successor for at least another year
Criminal lords differ at to who is going to become Shakro Molodoy’s successor after the kingpin was put behind bars. Security forces did not hesitate to take advantage of the split and now intend to keep derailing thieves’ gatherings for as long as possible to prevent the new election for the criminal throne from taking place.
Law enforcement officers have been instructed to prevent the election of the new ‘number one thief’ in Russia at least until the presidential elections in March 2018. Or better still, the 2018 World Cup should be held while the underworld is still decapitated, Znak.com wrote.
As we know, after Zakhar Kalashov (Shakro Molodoy) was arrested in July 2016, the criminal world decided to pick a new leader, since the criminal case was so high-profile that he is unlikely to get out soon.
There have been a few likely candidates for the post. There had been plans to consider them at a gathering held at a Moscow Batoni restaurant. However, the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department dispersed the post-New-Year meeting giving the influential guests no chance to discuss the throne matter. The gathering had about 30 people including powerful thieves in law Vasily Khristoforov (Vasya Voskres), Yuri Pichugin (Pichuga, “Little Bird”), Georgy Diakvnishvili (Gia Dlinny, “Long”) and Paat Tvalchrelidze (Paat Malenly, “Little”).

There is still no precise information as to who is going to take the place of the "boss of all the bosses". CrimeRussia sources had reported that one of the likely candidates is Gela Kardava (Gela), who had been deported from Russia in 2013. Despite his ban on entry into the Russian Federation, the criminal surreptitiously comes to Moscow on short visits to pave the way for his full-time return, which, according to the verdict passed by the Moscow Cheryomushki Court, will not be until the end of 2018.
At the same time there are reports that Shakro could be replaced by Yuri Pichugin. Among the other possible Slavic Wing candidates on the thieves’ crown in Russia the sources name Vladimir Tyurin (Tyurik), Oleg Shishkanov (Shishkan), Aleksei Petrov (Petrik), Vyacheslav Shestakov (Sliva, ‘Plum’). Pichugin is positioned as the consolidated candidate.

The Caucasus Wing of the underworld that has been pretty influential over the last decades is now quite fragmented. Dmitry Chanturia aka Miron, whom Rosbalt dubbed one of the crown contenders, does not have sufficient authority, although he is willing to help Kardava and receive dividends later, the CrimeRussia source said. Lasha Shushanashvili (Lasha Rustavsky) is more influential, but also has more links to Europe than to Russia. Therefore, the Caucuses Wing is taking the back seat this time, only on condition that ‘the number one thief’ would have a deputy representing the interests of Caucasus.
In addition, the criminal circles are now concerned about an equally pressing issue: who is going to be the Urals underboss. Gia Akoev (Gia Sverdlovsky) is considered to be the main contender. He has already been transferred from a Murmansk prison to a Chelyabinsk one, and his term is to be over on October 25, 2017. The region has lost its unity and law enforcers promise they will not let the Sverdlovsk Region become a ‘black’ one.
The other day, 20-year-old Armen Badalyan jumped out of the window on the fourth floor and broke his spine, explaining his action in social networks with the fact that he could not live without his beloved. This happened after he learned of the death of heavily wounded Viktoria Demchuk in a plane during transportation to Moscow.
