The theme of fight with the thieves within the law – is at the spotlight again. Once again the subject of counteraction of organized crime and fight against its ideologists was mentioned at the meeting of the Joint Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Union state, which begun in Gomel. According to the media office of the official web site of the Republic of Belarus’ embassy in Russia, Vladimir Kolokoltsev and his Belorussian colleague Igor Shunevich took part in the meeting.
Besides other things on the table – discussion of questions of improvement of interaction in the sphere of fight against organized crime of an all-criminal orientation. The Minister of the Internal Affairs of Belarus in his statement noted that questions of fight against organized, transnational crime at meetings of the Joint Collegium are considered not for the first time. In this regard, according to Shunevich, it is necessary to continue an offensive position in questions of counteraction of integration of criminal elements of the different countries.
In his turn, the head of the General Administration of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Victor Golovanov, who also participated in the meeting, reported that for the benefit of Russia Belorussian law enforcement officers have detained 345 defendants of criminal cases in the past two years. The Russian law enforcement agencies, in their turn, have detained 755 accused of crimes commission.
