Mob Lera Sumskoy's allies detained for extortion
Whether the mob was detained has not yet been reported.
Police of the Sumskaya region detained two men on suspicion of extortion of 1500 dollars from a local car owner. The detainees had stolen the car from the victim, and then, demanded money for its return, UNN reports.
According to the edition, not all the participants in the crime were detained. Also, it is known that well-known thief in law Sergey Lysenko, dubbed Lera Sumskoy, led the gang. Whether the mob was detained has not yet been reported. It is only known that the siloviki caught criminals red-handed.
The racketeers are charged with part 2 of Art. 189 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Extortion, committed by prior agreement with a group of persons). They face up to 7 years’ imprisonment.
Initially, the defendants in the case had been charged with embezzlement through swindling in the amount of 225 million rubles ($3.3 million). In the final version of the indictment, the article was changed to 1.5-billion-ruble ($22.45 million) embezzlement.
