Mob Guli detained in Turkey
Local law enforcers got interested in his criminal activity in Russia.
Istanbul police have detained thief in law Nadir Salifov aka Guli, Turkish media report.
It is noted that Istanbul Organised Crime Division got interested in the thief after Russian media published information that while in Turkey, Guli was managing an extensive crime group operating in Russia.
In particular, one of the latest news on this subject was the information that his envoys had finally established control over the large wholesale market Food City, located near Moscow on the 22 km of the Kaluga highway.
To recall, Guli led the fight for the agricultural cluster, previously belonging to a relative of thief in law Rovshan Dzhaniev (Rovshan Lenkoransky), Zaur Akhmedov, since the beginning of the year.
The activity of Guli’s henchmen was so extensive that Akhmedov even had to hide from them and move about exclusively with a large group of guards. At the time, the market traders mainly coming from Azerbaijan were shifting their loyalty to Guli.
The last attempt to change the situation was the appearance of thief in law Khadzhi Talybkhanly (Khadzhi Beylagansky), who was considered to be a full-time killer in Dzhaniev’s gang, in Moscow. However, in late May, he was detained by Moscow law enforcers. The Russian Investigative Committee charged him with crimes under part 3 of Art. 30, item ‘a’ part 1 of Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (Attempt at Murder), part 1 of Art. 105 (Murder), and part 1 of Art. 222 (Illegal Arms Trafficking). According to law enforcement bodies, the thief is responsible for the murder of crime lord Ilgar Aliev (Danabash), the secretary of the criminal ‘patriarch’ Aslan Usoyan (Ded Hasan).
Apart from this episode, which is described in media, Guli is also charged under Kidnapping (Art. 126) and Extortion (Art. 163). In the middle of December last year, the Presnensky Court of Moscow arrested Salifov in absentia and put him on the wanted list.
At the same time, it is noted that Salifov became infamous in Turkey after the murder of Dzhaniev, who was killed in Istanbul in August 2016.
As a result, Salifov was detained on one of the Istanbul streets.
In August this year, Guli was also detained along with his nephew Magomed Kurbanov in the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, where he had come to celebrate his birthday and simultaneously hold a small gathering. However, the thief was released already on the following day. Montenegrin side did not report anything about the reasons for his detention, as well as why he was not extradited to Russia in accordance with international standards.
