Law enforcement officers testify against the crime boss.

The lawyer of thief in law Oleg Shishkanov (Medvedev), known by the nickname Shishkan, said that at least three witnesses in the case against his client are law enforcement officers, reports Moskva agency.

According to the legal advocate, the petition for Shishkanov's arrest is based on the testimony of three witnesses - an employee of the Russian Investigative Committee named Pulin, a criminal investigation officer named Ryabinin and investigator Oleg Zlotnikov.

According to the lawyer, the testimonies were given in the noughties, and changes to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (introduction of an article on holding the highest position in the criminal hierarchy) were introduced later, therefore the testimonies cannot be used in the current situation.

Shishkan’s defense also drew attention to the fact that, on the basis of the operational information featured in the case file, law enforcement officers checked their client more than 15 times for the involvement in the criminal world, but this was not possible to establish.

As The CrimeRussia wrote, the crime boss was detained at his home on July 14, when officers of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation with the support of special forces came to him late at night. Shishkan was accused of holding the highest position in the criminal hierarchy under the new "anti-thief" law.
