Kyrgyzstan: doctors who diagnosed thief in law Aziz with cancer detained
It was earlier reported about the criminal case into illegal release of the ‘thief in law’ from a colony.
Law enforcers of Kirgizia detained doctors who diagnosed ‘thief in law’ Aziz Batukaev with acute leukemia. The deadly diagnosis caused his early release from a colony. However, later, the criminal case was initiated.
According to Kabar agency with reference to a source within law enforcement, the doctors were detained after the case into release of Aziz was reopened. Law enforcers believe the medical assessment was faked.
The CrimeRussia reported that ‘death-sick’ Batukaev was released from a colony in 2013. He served his 16 years’ sentence in a town of Naryne. In 6 hours after the verdict was delivered, Batukaev set off in a charter flight from Bishkek to Grozny. According to some reports, the transportation in a high-end Bombardier Challenger 300 was provided by Duma member Adam Delimkhanov, an associate of Ramzan Kadyrov.
Aziz has influential protectors in Chechnya who had helped him with 2 criminal cases in the motherland: into drugs and road accident. Thanks to that, Batukaev managed to stay in Chechnya. Photos of the ‘thief’ spending time in the Republic’s amusement facilities emerged on the web.
On April 30, 2014, Naryne city court cancelled its own decision related to release of the ‘thief’. Batukaev was placed on an international wanted list. From then onward, Kirgizia has been seeking for his return.
