The extortionist who acted on behalf of the well-known Azerbaijani thief in law threatened to kill the victim’s wife and children, and also threw a bottle of combustible mixture into their home.

In the city of Rustavi in eastern Georgia, a previously convicted local resident was arrested and accused of extortion and membership in a thieves' community, according to the official website of the MIA of Georgia.

According to the Georgian police, the suspect extorted $3,000 from a resident of the Gardabani district of the Kvemo Kartli region, threatening with reprisals against his family.

It is known that the attacker threatened the victim on behalf of the well-known Azerbaijani thief in law Guli (Nadir Salifov). For persuasiveness, the suspect threw a bottle of combustible mixture into the victim’s house, the report says. No casualties were reported.

Currently, an investigation of the suspect’s involvement with the thieves' world and the fact of extortion is underway. In accordance with Part 1 of Art. 181 and Part 1 of Art. 223 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, the accused faces from 7 to 10 years in prison.

Recall that according to the data of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, in September, for the first nine months of 2018, the Georgian police detained 39 on charges of belonging to thieves in law, membership in a thieves' community, participation in a thieves' meeting and support to the thieves' world. In early November, three people were arrested in the three cities of the western region of Imereti for appealing to the thief in law – on behalf of the crime boss Giya Tskhvaradze (Giya Samtredsky) living abroad, they seized a private passenger transportation business.
