Gathering in St. Petersburg: Medved from Tambov and representatives of Hobbit
One half of the participants of the gathering presented St. Petersburg’s authorities, the second – men from Chechnya.
The names of some participants of the gathering, which took place in St. Petersburg restaurant Nevsky Palace on 22 December, became known. It turned out that at a meeting there was one of the Tambov old chaps Andrey Leukhin, also known as Medved, as well as representatives of the Slavic kingpin Andrey Belyaev, known by the nickname Hobbit. However, all detainees, including those mentioned above, were released after prophylactic conversation in the Office of the St. Petersburg Criminal Investigation Department.
Recall that the security forces, including fighters of Rosgvardiya Russian Rapid Deployment Police Task Force, dispersed the authoritative meeting. During the arrest, from 20 participants there were seized communications equipment, some arrived at the meeting with the weapon, which was also seized. According to law enforcement officials, representatives of the criminal environment gathered to divide the spheres of illegal business.
According to Fontanka, one half of the participants of the gathering presented St. Petersburg’s authorities, the second – men from Chechnya, who are living in the northern capital for a long time. The parties discussed the fate of the St. Petersburg businessman, who was forced to move with his family to Thailand to escape from the yoke of the Chechen organized crime group. As the newspaper writes, ‘natives’ took a firm stance demanding from the Chechens to stop aggressive actions against the businessman. Otherwise, ‘natives’ marked, the city criminal structures will regard assaults on the businessman as a sign of disrespect, equivalent to declaration of war between the clans.
