Election race for Shakro Molodoy throne
The arrest of thief in law Yuri Pichugin, who enjoyed a great influence in the thieves’ environment, can heavily affect the disposition of forces in the struggle for a place of Shakro Molodoy.
The arrest of thief in law Yuri Pichugin having a great influence in the criminal environment can greatly influence the disposition of forces in the ‘election race’ for Shakro Molodoy’s throne.
The sensational detention and subsequent arrest of criminal Yuri Pichugin (Pichuga) is a devastating blow. According to sources of Rosbalt, recently Pichuga, who was arrested on Saturday along with another 7 members of his criminal gang, had been the right hand and the strongest supporter of Tyurik. Many people were surprised at the arrest of Pichugin, previously involved in clan Ded Hasan – he was one of the most important persons of the thieves' world in terms of influence and wide connections.
Sources of Rosbalt familiar with the situation directly relate the arrest of Pichuga to a competition for the ‘throne’ of Russian mafia boss, which became deserted in August 2016 when Shakro Molodoy was arrested.
Earlier it was reported that Tyurik is the most likely candidate for the top post in the criminal hierarchy, but he will not be the only one to rule thieves in law. In January 2017 there was information about the formation of so-called coalition of thieves that will include influential criminals Lasha Shushanashvili (Lasha Rustavsky) and Oleg Shishkanov (Shishkan). Pichuga was called the initiator of these changes, and he himself was destined to a place of honor in the thieves conglomerate. Later, however, a source of The CrimeRussia denied this information, naming another member of influential clan Ded Hasan Gela Kardava (Gela) as the most possible candidate for Shakro Molodoy’s place. However, the situation with Gela is complicated by the fact that it is prohibited for him to enter Russia until 2018.
As an informed source of The CrimeRussia reported yesterday, now when Pichuga, who was the main link between Tyurik in Russia and Lasha Rustavsky in Greece, is in Syktyvkar jail, the threat for Tyurik looms large. According to the source, he has recently become a defendant in two criminal cases on the murder, which were brought against him in St. Petersburg.
In addition, according to the source of Rosbalt, Tyurin’s ascension to the throne is difficult to imagine without Pichuga. "In the absence of Pichuga and taking into account the other problems Tyurik has recently faced", his imminent taking of the post of the boss of all bosses can be forgotten. Now the struggle for leadership actually begins anew", – the interlocutor of the agency believes.
Meanwhile, apart from opposition of the main candidates for Shakro Molodoy’s place, there is a third force that cannot be disregarded.
As The CrimeRussia previously reported, some time after the arrest of Zakhar Kalashov, law enforcement agencies have received a secret order to disrupt the elections of Shakro Molodoy’s successor until the next presidential elections in Russia in 2018. Therefore, upcoming detentions of other influential criminals among candidates for the boss of all bosses positions may be links in the one logic chain.
