Crime lord Gela Kardava arrested in Minsk, Suliko Sukhumsky to be deported
Thieves in law were previously detained at the airport 24 hours one after other when trying to leave the country.
Gela Kardava, a well-known thief in law, was sent to a pre-trial detention center by a prosecutor’s decision for using fake documents – he was previously detained at the Minsk airport after he presented the passport in someone else's name. This was reported by the Main Directorate for Combatting Organized Crime and Corruption.
In addition, another decision was taken regarding another kingpin detained at the same airport a day after Kardava – Suliko Sharikadze, known as Suliko Sukhumsky. He will be deported from Belarus to Georgia, as Vladimir Tikhinya, the Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, told Sputnik.
It is specified that Kardava will be kept in custody in the pre-trial detention center No. 1 on the Volodarsky Street in Minsk. The sanction for the article incriminated to him provides for punishment from a fine of up to three years of imprisonment. In addition, Tikhinya added that Sukhumsky, most likely, will be banned from entering Belarus for a certain time.
It is to be added that in February last year, Gela was already detained in Kiev with a fake passport.
In the 2000s, Western Europe had welcomed refugees from Chechnya. In 2018, it has finally realized the criminal potential of dozens of thousands of mountain dwellers who had left their native land because of reprisals and economic disorder. Many of those who had fought against the Russian army in the first and second Chechen wars and their grown-up children skilled in weapons and practicing martial arts have united into street gangs. The CrimeRussia was figuring out why the Germans and Austrians don’t feel themselves comfortable in their countries anymore.
