Armenian police took thief in law Zap from restaurant for prevention
Apart from Andranik Sogoyan, 4 his friends were detained.
Armenian police took four crime lords to the police station, having detained them in one of the restaurants in Yerevan, reports Sputnik with reference to Armenian Time paper.
As the security officials explained, the operation was carried out "with a view to prevention." The sources of the media outlet say that one of the detainees is thief in law Andranik Sogoyan (Zap), the names of the others are unknown.
The police declined to give detailed comments.
Earlier, The CrimeRussia informed that in 2016 Sogoyan was beaten by six thieves in law when he was suspected of having ties with the authorities. Information about this appeared for the first time after he returned from the Czech Republic in 2009, where he was accused of murder. In 2013, he was convicted in absentia and sentenced to 22 years in prison, a request to extradite the crime lord was sent to Armenia. However, the Armenian authorities were reluctant to cooperate with the Czechs, and Sogoyan remained to live in his homeland.
Seventeen Russian Governors are facing criminal prosecution for bribe-taking. The rest of them may be jailed any time for exceedance of official powers. At least, Nezygar (@russica2) Telegram channel claims so citing an unidentified source in the law enforcement structures. However, according to that source, it is currently prohibited to prosecute top-level officials. In 2018, the operatives had only searched offices of Vice Governors or Deputy Ministers – not their bosses. The CrimeRussia found out what supreme functionaries are on the hook of the law enforcement authorities and may be immediately indicted if the President orders so.
